The plot kind of dabbles in the atmosphere of 1968 when women’s rights actions were being brought to the streets. Lourey’s newest release, BLOODLINE, is my favorite book I’ve read of hers yet, and a truly outstanding way to kick off a new year in crime fiction.

Leia tells him that he would be an honorable politician and counsels him to find other like-minded allies to end the deadlock in the Senate and prevent a war. He says he’s another representative of the Twin Star sect and unveils their banner: a blank, gray banner. She tells Orthos Lindon has been betrayed, and Orthos informs her that Lindon does not feel as though he’s in danger.Joan Harken is exactly the kind of sympathetic figure a story like BLOODLINE demands: not every decision she makes is exactly what I would have done in her shoes, but every decision she makes cements her as a character we can root for. During the flight, Eithan helps him train his new Authority and also reveals that he was a former advisor to Tiberius Arelius. Leia later raises the topic again with her husband Han Solo, who has become a successful starship racer. The plot relies heavily on the “don’t trust her, she’s crazy,” narrative device that is used so often to make female leads unreliable. Leia is saved from destruction by the arrival of her husband Han Solo, who uses a modified racer to shoot down the Amaxine fighters.

London is itching to leave – there’s a dreadgod on its way to Sacred Valley, and he intends to do what he can to save his home. Yerin reassures Lindon she’s okay from the fight, even if Ruby had separated into a distinct identity for a moment under the Phoenix. However, Leia discovers that Bastatha's gambling revenue is being funnelled into a network of shadow corporations based in the Outer Rim. The novel has five point-of-view characters including Leia Organa, her staffer and pilot Greer Sonnel, the Centrist senator Ransolm Casterfo, the antagonistic Lady Carise Sindian, and the New Republic starfighter pilot Joph Seastriker.

While Joph has been unable to find any record of the Amaxines in the public informational grid, he found references to the Amaxine in certain clusters of the galaxy; mainly Centrist worlds.

Life happened the past couple weeks and I simply didn’t have the bandwidth to get it out any sooner.

He learns that the Amaxines operate several bases but their main headquarters is on the planet Sibensko, a watery planet known as a crime haven.
