When Nilay reviewed the iPhone 11 Pro last month, he was forced to admit that the Pixel 4 was waiting in the wings. The touchscreen was very responsive to input and the position sensor could also be used reliably for controlling the game. Since this review was first published, a number of limited-time promotions have made the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL a much more attractive proposition. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware. While the camera is mostly excellent and the phone is a top-notch performer (not to mention the new Google Assistant, which works more rapidly than ever before and is a worthy rival to Siri and Bixby), there’s disappointment to be found in the weak Pixel 4 battery, the lack of storage, the missing wide-angle camera and fingerprint scanner, and finicky Motion Sense.

The Pixel 4 still tends towards more contrast and more blue tones — though it’s much less dramatic than the Pixel 3 was. Google Pixel products, ranging from smartphones to tablets and laptops, are designed to showcase the best of Google's software and services. The Google Pixel 4 XL transfers the voice of our conversation partner with a good volume, reliably filtering out surrounding noises. All together, the phone is more of a pragmatist’s flagship, eschewing the shimmering gradients and waterfall-edged displays of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or Huawei Mate 30 Pro in favor of bold-hued simplicity. The touchscreen of the Pixel 4 XL offers a very comfortable surface, allowing you to effortlessly perform drag-and-drop operations. Given it’s not used anywhere else on the phone, it’s something of a stillborn addition, and while more apps could code in functionality, the onus is on Google to make this feature resonate enough for users to learn it. Speakers: 2 speakers (Stereo), Keyboard: onscreen, Keyboard Light: yes, USB charger, USB Type-C cable, OTG adapter, 24 Months Warranty, SAR value (head): 1.

Face unlock works just like the fingerprint sensor did for biometric authentication — it maps to unlocking, authorizing purchases, and so on — or at least it should once more apps update to support it. It might not be the fastest Android phone, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 certainly can’t compete with the silicon on an iPhone, but I haven’t had any issues during my first week of testing. With reasonings pls 🙂Honestly I really love this phone too the only part I hate is the battery which pixel 5 is better than it in . Google’s new Pixel 4 series presents us with two undoubtedly impressive devices, but a number of odd design choices mean that I can’t be as rapturous about the Pixel 4XL model I reviewed as I’d like. The differences are pretty negligible and we were pleasantly surprised by how well the Pixel 4 scored against some pretty heavy-hitting competition, including the ASUS ROG Phone 2, the OnePlus 7T series, and the realme X2 Pro.Fully tested with no visible signs of use, for all intents and purposes a new device with perfect functionality. It is such a light phone that the extra weight from a larger battery wouldn’t have bothered anybody. Navigation gestures won’t suit everyone, but if you swapped over a while ago you’ll be used to them by now. Given that original quality Google Photos uploads are no longer on offer and we’re never getting a microSD card on a Google phone, you have justifiable reasons to feel disgruntled. The lack of a fingerprint scanner is a bit disappointing here, because face unlock is not foolproof.
