Imagine my pain of typing ‘donut’ so many times when I am British and know the proper spelling is ‘doughnut’. Whether intentional or not, this is the real clutch of the game for me, securing it a permanent place in my collection. Double Chocolate (2): Immediately draw two cards from the deck, choose one to place in front of you and put the other back on top. The Boy: From a practical side, I wished individual boxes were available to place the cards in when you are not playing because the box that is included can sometimes bend the cards. While not perfect, Go Nuts for Donuts does make for a highly accessible gateway game or light filler game for your gaming group.

With so many great games out there, it’s difficult for families to know what is a great game for family game night and what is a waste of money. This is one that I can easily play with my daughter just to have fun, or I can play it with the whole family and we can get crazy.

Go Nuts for Donuts features cutely drawn food, easy to learn mechanics, and more set collection goodness. Some are worth points only if you have a certain number of them, or if you have the majority of that type. Important note: an action card’s ability is only ever triggered when you pick it up from the donut row. This game is just not for families though; my wife and I played this game multiple times with several of our friends on our own game night to very positive reviews. If more than one person chose the same donut, then the donut is discarded instead and those people get nothing this round.

Boston Cream (6): Score 0 if you have one, 6 for two, 0 for three, 15 for four, 0 for five, or 25 if you have six.

The number of Donut cards played per game varies based on the number of players so a game is different each time.

It reminds me of Sushi Go, but is different enough that players can own both without there being any overlap in gameplay. When all the selection cards have been played, and everyone has gotten a donut, or not, then everyone takes back their selection card. As long as you are ok with the threat of constantly getting no cards during rounds, Go Nuts for Donuts can be quite enjoyable.Knowing just how tasty donuts/doughnuts are, if they were sentient, like animals, and all had natural faces on like in this game, would you still eat them?
